Over 80 years of sealing technology

1920s
1st generation
It all began in the early 1920s with Christoph Siegel, the 1st generation and in effect the foundation for everything that followed. He opened a specialist shop for iron and metal goods as well as household and kitchen appliances in Gelnhausen.

1940s
The actual founder
In the 1940s the actual founder, Richard Siegel, representing the 2nd generation, began producing rubber soles and heels for the shoe industry with a single-lever hand press in the municipality of Sinntal in the Main-Kinzig district of Hesse. Within a short time this gave rise to "Risi", a name well known in the industry, and the company "Richard Siegel, Spezial Fabrikation für stanztechnische Gummischeiben und Ringe" (specialist manufacturer of punched rubber washers and rings) was founded.

1950s
Move to Gelnhausen
In the 1950s the company moved to larger production premises on Altenhaßlauer Straße in Gelnhausen under the name "Richard Siegel, Spezialfabrik stanztechnischer Gummiteile" (specialist factory for punched rubber parts). Here the machinery was expanded and production of a wide range of punched parts began. At that time the main customers came from the sanitary and electrical industries. Among other things, a small department was set up that invented the cut-in ring (formerly also called the onion ring): the multiple use of a single hose ring, punched with different diameters for cable glands and bushings.

Growth
Medium-sized company
Over the years the company continued to grow and developed into a medium-sized business in the region. New industries were supplied and the production range was steadily expanded.

1986
3rd generation
In 1986 his son and successor, Christoph Siegel, took over as the 3rd generation and turned the business into "Siegel Gummi- und Kunststoffwarenfabrik GmbH". With the later production of valve flaps for the automotive industry, the name became increasingly well known and the customer base grew steadily.

2017
New location
At the beginning of 2017 we moved to our production facility in Linsengericht-Altenhaßlau, where we still operate today and constantly strive to meet our customers’ requirements.
