CR in use

CR chloroprene, also known as Neoprene, is a self-extinguishing elastomer that meets various UL94 requirements on request. The chlorine it contains, a halogen, deprives the flame of oxygen.

CR offers good resistance to ozone and weathering similar to EPDM, resistance to mineral oils and greases similar to NBR, and is resistant to dilute acids and alkalis. CR is not recommended for fuel-carrying components.

Resistant to mineral oils and greases, although NBR is better suited for direct and continuous contact
Good resistance to dilute acids and bases
Contains halogen: the chlorine it contains deprives the flame of oxygen
Good insulating properties
Not recommended for direct contact with fuels
Temperature resistant, as a rule, from -20 °C to +110 °C, briefly up to +120 °C depending on the formulation
