NBR in use

NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber) is used when high resistance to oil and grease is required. The material retains its elasticity even in direct contact with oil.

This makes NBR particularly suitable for hydraulics and pneumatics, mechanical engineering, engine and gearbox construction and automotive applications.

Perbunan seals: properties and resistance

Perbunan is a trade name for NBR, so a Perbunan seal has the same properties: very good resistance to oil and fuel, good abrasion resistance and a low compression set. The chemical resistance for individual media is listed in the resistance chart below. For media not listed, we are happy to check compatibility for your application.
