Pneumatics and hydraulics
In the pneumatics and hydraulics industry, O-rings are used in numerous cylinders, valves, controls, connecting elements, fittings and hose connections, on shafts or internally.
Moulded articles
SIEGEL Dichtungen is your manufacturer of O-rings to DIN 3771 and ISO 3601, for static and dynamic sealing. We produce them as closed rings straight from the mould, without untidy butt vulcanisation or bonded joints, from approx. 0.6 x 0.5 mm up to inside diameters of approx. 2,000 mm and cross-sections up to 60 mm.

Materials & standards
O-Rings are manufactured from the following materials and, on request, designed to meet the relevant standards and approvals. The linked pages provide details on properties, resistances and regulations.
Process
More on manufacturing & tolerances
O-rings are a widely used sealing solution for static and dynamic applications, named after the round cross-section of the cord. We produce them endlessly from the mould, so even large dimensions are made without untidy butt vulcanisation or bonded joints.

Depending on the component and quantity, we manufacture using compression moulding (CM), transfer moulding (TM) or injection moulding (IM). With shorter heating and cycle times and faster demoulding, injection moulding is the most commonly used manufacturing process for O-rings.
After vulcanisation, the O-rings are initially held in a flash mat or star-shaped sprue. In cryogenic deburring with nitrogen, all production residues and remaining flash are removed using liquid nitrogen and by tumbling the parts for a precisely defined time.
