Abrasive
Abrasive materials are substances used to remove other materials by friction or grinding. In our case, the term is relevant in water jet cutting technology.
Abrasive water jet cutting
To cut very hard and particularly thick materials, a specific fine-grained sand is added to the water jet. Under the focused pressure of the water jet, the sand creates even more friction than in the pure water process.
Applications
- Production of seals and blanks: from all common elastomers and plastics up to a material thickness of approx. 100 mm
